UNITED STATES ARMED SERVICES

As CEO and Executive Director, for four years, of a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving families of the fallen who died in active service on or after September 11, 2001, Marie had the privilege of developing relationships with and speaking before the United States armed services, both inside and outside the Pentagon, around the United States, and the companies and organizations that honor and support them.
Private presentations included the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon and regional commanding officers for the U.S. Army Reserve. At Fort Meade, Maryland Marie gave presentations, by invitation for four consecutive years, to Air Force officers and chaplains at the annual Air Force Casualty & Loss Seminar. These service personnel call on the next of kin of fallen active service members at the time of loss, and provide ongoing service to them for emotional support and survivor benefits.

In February 2008, she keynoted the United States Air Force Academy at its annual National Character and Leadership Symposium before the cadet class of 4,000 students, general officers, media and guests and led three additional breakout groups on the theme of "Impassioned Citizenship: Can ONE Make a Difference?" She has a close association with the 3rd United States Infantry Regiment at Arlington National Cemetery, also known as the Sentinels of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. President George W. Bush and Senator Barbara Boxer honored Woolf's organization in the U.S. Senate. The U.S. House of Representatives hosted them at its annual close of session reception for August recess, with a large weeklong exhibit in the foyer of the Cannon House Office Building.

The organization was honored to keynote at the national conventions of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) as well as at the corporate headquarters of Coca-Cola and defense contractors. Saint Louis University presented the Sword of Ignatius Loyola to the organization at its annual formal dinner ceremony, an honor which has included Nobel Prize laureates, United States ambassadors and other distinguished recipients. A private dinner at the Utah Governor's Mansion with Governor Jon Huntsman, Lt. Governor Gary Herbert and guests followed a reception and honors at the Governor's Mansion in Salt Lake City. Though this national nonprofit is no longer active, its model, next of kin materials and partnerships continue to benefit tens of thousands of American veterans, their families, and other organizations.
